Welcome!

Welcome one and all to "Making Sense of Education: Evaluating Practices and Policy" blog!

I like to think of this less as a blog and more as a forum for discussion. I will of course do my best to get a variety of conversations started, and would love to receive suggestions regarding what people want to talk about. A few topics I have in mind are: the importance of education in creating the foundation for our society and individual development; the goals we have for our children and whether our current methods of teaching achieve those goals; what are the current ideologies behind education today and what do they result in on an individual and societal level; how to incorporate multi-culturalism in the classroom and the melting-pot vs. mixed salad idea of American diversity; the way we assess our children and what it results in; and the subtle ways in which we send messages to children and students that we may not be aware of.

Posts will be coming soon, and all are welcome to visit, read, and contribute!

Let's get our creative juices flowing and collaborate on ways to evaluate and improve education - from infants to college students! Please pass this blog along to anyone you think might be interested!

Can't wait to get started - tomorrow! It's a bit late tonight...

See you soon and happy blogging!
